Colinton primary school pupils have their say on new resource pack

We had a great time visiting Colinton Primary School in Edinburgh, recently.

The team worked with a group of primary five pupils from the armed forces community to start work on a new resource pack for peers.

The visit provided the pupils with an opportunity to play our Forces Life Board Game and Comic Book and provide their feedback.

Better still, the pupils shared their lived experiences and contributed ideas on how to make things easier for peers from military families moving to the school in the future.

There are over 12,500 pupils from armed forces communities attending Scottish schools, many of whom feel that many of the unique experiences of forces life are simply not on the radar of civilian audiences.

Moreover, many schools located near military bases are proactively exploring ways to make things easier for armed forces families moving to the area through respective postings through the Army, Royal Navy, or Royal Air Force.

The visit is the first step in our work with Colinton Primary School to support forces families who will be posted to Redford and Dreghorn Barracks in the future.

We look forward to keeping you informed on future progress.
