Regular Giving

For some children and young people in armed forces families, they have told us that they face challenges to realising their potential and thrive.

Things like deployment and uncertainty concerning loved ones, bereavement, living with a family member with life-changing physical or psychological wounds, regular relocations as well as disrupted friendships, activities, and routines can present detrimental effects on education and learning, mental health and wellbeing, and much more.

Moreover, when children and young people make the change from military to civilian life with their families, it can lead to further challenges.

Some have told us that they have felt a growing pressure to adapt and maintain day-to-day routines amidst what can prove either a rapid or gradual transformational change, leading to an acute sense of loss with regard to belonging, community, relationships, and identity.

Many of these challenges are simply not on the radar of civilian audiences. Therefore, there are so many unaware of how forces life can impact upon a child’s ability to realise their potential and thrive, both now and in the future.

Whatever you can commit makes a huge difference.

We have very exciting plans for the future to reach and support greater numbers of children and young people from armed forces and veteran families across Scotland.

Committing as little as £5 a month will help us:

  • Work directly with more children and young people from armed forces and veteran families to co-produce projects, services, and campaigns.
  • Deliver life-changing experiences to develop new skills, build confidence and forge new friendships.
  • Support children and young people to better understand and enhance their mental health and wellbeing.
  • Reduce isolation and loneliness through our youth forums and much more.
  • Help educators and professionals to better understand forces life and adapt practice to meet unique education support needs.
  • Deliver rapid financial assistance which responds to specific needs when it matters most to overcome financial hardship and to help others to dream big and pursue positive futures.

Become a positive force for good.

Regular giving enables us to plan to make big changes for the future; all of which will make a real difference to over 12,500 children and young people from armed forces communities across Scotland.

Help to overcome unique challenges when it comes to mental health and wellbeing, education and learning and much more to realise their potential and thrive.
