We are excited to welcome Ariella Azoulay to the team, who will help manage our administrative processes and Family Support Services.
We sat down with Ariella to ask her a few questions having started her new role at Forces Children Scotland earlier this summer.
“The job listing called for people who love the spreadsheets, databases, and behind-the-scenes work that keep a charity moving forward. I was excited by the opportunity to do the (what some call tedious) administrative work I love and help the passionate and creative people on staff at Forces Children Scotland achieve their strategic goals all at the same time.
“My partner is also a serving member of the Royal Navy and we have a young daughter, so helping and supporting the children and young people in the Armed Forces community is something that is very close to home for me. I’ve seen how hard this life can be for some of the children in the wider armed forces community, and I love the way Forces Children Scotland puts their voices and experiences at the heart of everything they do.”
“I feel a bit like all my previous work experience has been building to this role. I’ve had past roles working directly with children as a swimming instructor, I’ve run my own company providing administrative support to small businesses, and I’ve even served on the fundraising committee for a local children’s charity. The skills and knowledge I’ve picked up in all these experiences will let me really hit the ground running supporting the Forces Children Scotland team.”
“I think it is an exciting time to have joined the Forces Children Scotland team with the new strategic plan and new projects that are coming up. I am really looking forward to supporting the team however I can so that they can focus on these new initiatives and really help a lot of young people.”
