Introducing Chloe Gillespie, our new Finance Manager and PA to the Chief Executive.

Chloe will be responsible for managing Forces Children Scotland’s financial operations.

Better still, Chloe will manage the charity’s grant-giving services and coordinate activities with our Board of Trustees.

Having finished forecasting for the next financial year, we caught up with Chloe to get to know her a little better.

If you had a hundred words to tell us a little about you, what would you say?

“I have a head for numbers not words, so this is not easy.

“I have always worked hard and sometimes under quite bizarre circumstances! My experiences have, in some ways, created a monster but I am effective and aim to improve processes and make people’s lives easier in the workplace. Gin is my friend, along with wine and tequila. I am most content walking where I won’t meet anyone and happiest spending time with my husband and daughter and causing mayhem for my parents with my many sisters and their families.”

What inspired you to apply for this role with Forces Children Scotland?

“With five years of finance experience and a decade of working in management gaining a wide variety of skills and knowledge, I was inspired to put my expertise to good use. Being part of a team that aims to support and help provide for Children and families, I couldn’t think of anything better than working for a great cause, like Forces Children Scotland..”

What will you bring to the role in terms of knowledge, skills, and experience?

“Working in a high-pressure environment, I have always looked for efficiencies in both operational and financial processes. Having spent my younger years training in leadership and management, coaching children in sports such as tennis and skiing, I love working with people helping them gain their potential and thrive in confidence.”

What are you looking forward to most regarding your new role?

“Working with a team who are passionate about making a difference. Building new relationships and being able to support everyone to deliver their best for Forces Children Scotland and all those we work with.”

How are things going so far – How are you settling in?

“It’s been a tough start, but budgets are not always easy. I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting members of the team learning about their roles and discovering all the incredible achievements of the organisation.”
