Forces Children Scotland joins forces with Troopr

Forces Children Scotland, a leading charity dedicated to supporting children and young people from armed forces and veteran families, is proud to partner with Troopr, an innovative digital platform for military communities.

This strategic collaboration will leverage Troopr’s expansive network to assist Forces Children Scotland in reaching and supporting greater numbers of children and young people from armed forces communities in Scotland.

Troopr was developed with a simple mission to bridge the gap between the Armed Forces community and the invaluable support readily available to them.

Troopr was created as a response to the complexity that military personnel, veterans, and their families often face when navigating the web of opportunities and support provided by ‘Forces Friendly’ organisations.

Platform users will be able to search for specific, targeted opportunities, discover forces friendly organisations, and access support tailored to their needs.

Forces Children Scotland has over two hundred years’ experience supporting children and young people from armed forces communities.

The charity delivers mental health and wellbeing services, youth forums, and residential experiences, as well as helps this community stand up for their rights, it facilitates accredited CPD for professionals and provides financial support.

Projects, services, and campaigns are co-produced with children and young people, which proves highly effective in fostering a sense of ownership, empowerment, and confidence.

The partnership is hoped to prove highly effective in helping the charity achieve strategic outcomes and realise its vision of making Scotland a place where all children and young people from armed forces communities can overcome unique challenges associated with forces life to realise their full potential and thrive.

Steven Sweeney, Chief Executive Officer at Forces Children Scotland, said:

“Partnering with Troopr is a significant step forward in ensuring that we can reach more children and young people from armed forces communities across Scotland.

Establishing a digital presence and wider visibility is so important in helping us to deliver our mission. We are confident this partnership provides an innovative, engaging, and accessible platform to discover the services Forces Children Scotland provides, supporting even more children and young people to overcome unique challenges associated with forces life, to realise their potential and thrive.”

Aaron Clark, Partner Relationship Manager at Troopr, said:

‘As a military child, I am delighted to be working alongside Forces Children Scotland to ensure access is available to all services, groups and support for all armed forces children and young people across Scotland.

Growing up in an armed forces community is an incredible privilege but also presents challenges to which I am hopeful Troopr can help support and signpost. Through positive collaboration, communications and networking I am excited to grow this partnership to support Armed Forces children across Scotland and promoting the brilliant work the charity does.”
