Forces Children Scotland becomes Military Charity Partner for season 2024-25

The partnership supports the charity’s mission of making Scotland a place where over 13,000 children from armed forces and veteran families can overcome unique challenges to realise their potential and thrive.

Founded in 1815, just days before the Battle of Waterloo, the charity today puts the lived experience of children and young people from armed forces communities at the heart of co-producing projects, services, and campaigns.

The charity delivers face-to-face and digital mental health & wellbeing services, and youth participation activities that build confidence, develop new skills, expand horizons, and help to make new friends. Its work supports this community in standing up for their rights, amplifying their lived experiences to policymakers to achieve meaningful change, providing financial support, and delivering accredited CPD training for professionals.

Rangers Charity Foundation has a proud tradition of supporting and championing the work of armed forces and veterans’ charities. The foundation has pledged to raise £5K in support of Forces Children Scotland during season 2024-25 and to work with the charity to promote its work supporting the armed forces community.

Alongside Rangers Football Club, the foundation became the first football club charity in the UK to receive the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme’s Gold Award from the Ministry of Defence in 2019

The Rangers Charity Foundation’s Chief Executive, Connal Cochrane, said:

“Our commitment to supporting armed forces personnel, veterans, and their families remains steadfast and, with the generous support of the Rangers Family, I’m delighted that our Armed Forces Fund will be assisting Forces Children Scotland this season.”

Gary Seath, Marketing, Communications, and Development Manager at Forces Children Scotland said:

“The partnership means so much to our charity given the foundation’s proud commitment to supporting the armed forces community.

We look forward to working together to become a force for good empowering children and young people from armed forces communities to overcome unique challenges associated with forces life, to stand up for their rights, and to reach their full potential.”
