Forces Children Scotland invites educators and professionals to attend a free online webinar to introduce the experiences and views of children and young people from armed forces and veteran families communities.

This accredited session will introduce children’s rights from the perspectives of children and young people from Armed Forces families. The co-learning space will provide opportunities for participants to learn from each other and to reflect on the information provided by young people.

Who is this event for?

Anyone with an interest in this subject is invited to join us at this learning session. However, we believe this will be most relevant for those who work with children and young people from this community. The session will be a medium for attendees to engage with this topic and discuss what it means for their practice.

Key Learning

  • Introduction to children’s rights and their status in Scotland
  • An exploration of children’s rights and how they can be upheld for children in Armed Forces and Veteran families
  • Understanding the impact Armed Forces Covenant and what this means for children and young people from an Armed Forces family
  • Overview of Scottish and UK policy context relevant to the lives of children and young people from armed forces families

On completion of the webinar, there is an opportunity to give feedback and a certificate will be issued on successful completion of the course.
