We continue to live in challenging times and that’s why we provide financial assistance to families to cover the costs of many of life’s essentials.

Who We Support

We support the children and young people of Scottish regular and reservist personnel, as well as those of veterans from all branches of the British Armed Forces, residing anywhere in the UK.

Additionally, we assist children and young people of regular and reservist personnel who are not Scottish but are currently based or residing in Scotland.

We understand that families of serving personnel, reservists, and veterans can face unique financial challenges.

That’s why we offer a range of financial assistance options to support young people up to the age of 25.

Whether you need help caring for a loved one or pursuing further education, our grants are here to assist.

What we do not support

Please note that we do not cover debt, household bills, and other ongoing costs, private school fees, or tuition.

Student funding

Putting students from armed forces and veteran families across Scotland first.

We’re here, every step of the way, to help young people realise their potential and thrive at college or university.

This financial need based grant can be claimed for up to five years, depending on household income and whether the student is living at home or away. Our applications open in April each year and close early August.

We know being a young carer in an armed forces or veteran family can be challenging.

With the right support, we can support you to realise your potential and thrive.

We offer a grant for age-appropriate activities or equipment that promote the mental health and well-being of these young people

Education and aspiration funding

We help children and young people to pursue bright, positive futures.

We cover things like school uniforms, equipment like laptops or tablets, school trips, after-school activities, to sports coaching, music tuition, and much more. In cases of bereavement, access to tutoring may also be considered.

This grant covers approximately 10 weeks of activities. We also contribute to residential opportunities.

Family funding

We know many families are facing additional financial challenges during unprecedented times.

There is no lengthy application process, and we can help cover many of life’s essentials to make a huge difference in reducing worry and stress.

We provide financial assistance for essential needs such as clothing, food, basic furniture, beds, and bedding.
