Freelance content creator needed for Map My Move

Forces Children Scotland 19 hours ago

News

We’re working with young people from Armed Forces families to design an interactive digital map and information hub for others moving to Scotland.

Young people in Helensburgh, Leuchars and Moray have made great progress planning the map and creating photos and videos themselves. Now we’re looking for a freelance video creator to spend a fun day of filming and content creation with each group, creating an additional asset that makes their work stand out.

We’re looking for someone with a friendly, natural on-camera presence, who can put young people at ease and help them bring their ideas to life.

The details

You’ll need to be based in Scotland and able to travel to Helensburgh, Leuchars and Moray for a day of filming at each location, in December or January (we can agree the dates together). We’ll then commission you to edit and produce a video for each area.

What we’re hoping to get

Exciting, youth-led videos that support Map My Move and get people talking about it on social media: one long-form video for each area, plus shorter clips and reels for social media.

About you

We’d love to hear from anyone with video content creation experience and enthusiasm for what we’re building. You’ll be comfortable appearing on camera (a bit like a vlogger!).

Direct experience working with children and young people is a plus, and we’ll need you to do a PVG check before getting started (we’ll cover the costs).

How to apply

Please email comms@forceschildrenscotland.org.uk by 13 November.

Use the subject line ‘Map My Move Content Creation’ and include:

  • A video or campaign that reflects your style
  • Your daily/hourly or per-video rates, plus indicative travel expenses for Helensburgh, Leuchars and Moray (overnight stays can be considered)

We’ll be in touch with those who seem like a good fit to arrange an informal chat.

Thanks for considering this opportunity!

Map My Move has been funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
