Understanding Anxiety as Your Bodyguard

In stressful or overwhelming situations, it can be difficult to step back and make sense of how we respond. In this activity, you’ll learn to understand anxiety and how it shows up for you by imagining it as your own personal bodyguard, exploring:

  • How anxiety feels in your body and affects what you do
  • Why your bodyguard exists (as the name suggests, it’s trying to protect you!)
  • What triggers your bodyguard to step in
  • Different ways to power up your bodyguard and calm them down

This creative activity has been designed for upper primary to upper secondary pupils but can be adapted for all different ages. Download the worksheet, and the power-ups, here:
