Forces Children Scotland has appointed Parkhouse Agency to work in partnership with young people from serving, reservist and veteran families to co-develop a mental health digital platform, as part of a project titled Your Mind Matters.
The project is funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust and young people have successfully collaborated with Parkhouse Agency to achieve several important milestones which have led to development of exciting early visuals.
Young people have played an integral role to co-produce the digital platform, which has focused on co-developing content, functionality, navigation and search schemes through a series of workshops with Parkhouse Agency.
Young people came together last month for a residential to participate in creative sessions to co-produce resources for the new digital platform, including podcasts, animations and information downloads about mental health.
A young person from the Your Mind Matters Project Team said:
“It’s so important to create something like Your Mind Matters and it’s great young people, like myself and others with similar experiences, have been able to be so involved in making lots of different things happen.
“It’s really exciting to see what the digital platform will look like and I hope it will help other young people from forces families talk about mental health and get support.”
The testing phase will begin later this month, with a view to launching the Your Mind Matters digital platform in June.
The charity has also launched pilot face-to-face support services in the West of Scotland through Your Mind Matters.
