Engagement | Meet our Forces Children Scotland team at Veterans Roadshow Events

We are delighted to announce that our Forces Children Scotland team will attend a short series of veterans’ breakfast roadshow events, which have been organised by Veterans Chaplaincy Scotland.

Events will be held at 0900hrs in Glasgow (St Georges Tron Church) on Wednesday 24 November and in Edinburgh (St Cuthbert’s Church) on Saturday 27 November, which aim to bring veteran families together as well as raise greater awareness of local charity services.

Our friendly team at Forces Children Scotland will host an information stand at both events, which will provide information about how the charity can support children, young people, and parents from veteran families across Scotland.

A very short introduction to Forces Children Scotland

We help children and young people to grow in confidence, develop new skills and gain valuable experiences by co-producing projects to support mental health and wellbeing, education and learning and put their unique experiences on the radar of civilian audiences.

We provide life-changing experiences which forge new friendships, through a sense of belonging and shared experience, and we amplify their unique experiences to help civilian audiences better understand what they’re going through and bring about big changes.

We listen and provide financial help in lots of different ways to children, young people, and their families. We support children and young people caring for loved ones or a member of the local community as well as gain qualifications at college or university.

What’s more, we have exciting plans to develop a host of new family support services over the next year, some of which are already up and running through our Listening Spaces hotline and virtual sessions.
