This is an exciting time for RCET: Scotland’s Armed Forces Children’s Charity as we embark on a new 5-year Strategic Plan which will see us develop and grow our services. To support our mission, we are looking to recruit three Trustees to help us continue to make a real difference to the lives of Armed Forces Children and Young People in Scotland.
Most Armed Forces families are lucky enough never to need our help, but for children from families who are struggling to make ends meet, living with ill health and disability, or experiencing difficulties at school, RCET provides a lifeline of support. In addition, we operate a highly successful and well-respected education programme in Scotland working with schools, local authorities, Armed Forces charities and the military.
Key skills and experience
While the Board of Trustees (BoT) cannot reflect all professional sectors, it is important that collectively BoT has a wide range of skills and experience. At the present time, we are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge or expertise in children’s social care, business, and education. As a military charity, it is important that this is also appropriately reflected in the make-up of the BoT.
If you think that you might be the right person to join our Board and help us on our journey to support every Armed Forces child in Scotland, please download our Application Pack.
Applications should be sent to admin@rcet.org.uk the closing date for submissions is 5 February 2021.
For an informal chat about the position, please email our Chief Executive Laura Falconer.
