Scotland’s Armed Forces Children’s Charity

The Scottish Military Ball Trust has announced Forces Children Scotland as its beneficiary charity for 2022.

Our charity will benefit from fundraising generated from its first ‘Wee Ball’ event since the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic, which will be held later this year at the Royal Scots Club in Edinburgh on Saturday 07 May 2022.

Originally established in 1956, the ball welcomes serving and reservist personnel, veterans, as well as their friends and family from across Scotland for an evening of good food, great company, and Scottish dancing to raise funds for good causes.

Major Kim Warder, Chair of the Scottish Military Ball Trust said:

“The Scottish Military Ball is the only tri-service, all ranks Ball in Scotland which serves to bring together serving personnel and veterans and their guests for a night of fun, friendship and fundraising.

“Having had to cancel our 2020 and 2021 events, we are so excited to host ‘The Wee Ball’ this year and look forward to raising as much as we can on the night in support of the invaluable work of Forces Children Scotland.”

The event will help support children and young people from serving and veteran families overcome unique challenges to education and learning, mental health and wellbeing as well as provide life-changing opportunities to learn new skills and develop in confidence.

Laura Falconer, Chief Executive Officer of Forces Children Scotland said:

“We wish to offer our sincere gratitude to the Scottish Military Ball Trust for choosing Forces Children Scotland to benefit from what will prove a wonderful event in bringing the Armed Forces community together in support of our charity.

“Our beneficiaries are very proud and passionate about belonging to this community, which makes this event even more special for our charity as well as for children and young people from serving, reservist and veteran families from across Scotland.”

Tickets are on sale now for the event, which can be booked via the Scottish Military Trust website (bookings@scottishmilitaryball.org). The Trust are currently running an early bird ticket promotion, which will run until the end of January.
